Gap welding
When access is only possible to one part
Gap welding is used if parts are being connected where one part is only accessible from one side, for example because it is insulated on one side. Both electrodes are positioned on the same surface. So that the energy and the heat pass through both join parts, the clearance must be positioned precisely and repeatably.
Typical applications are:
- Wiring of sensors with a circuit board
- Power packs / batteries
- Solar cells
